Welcome to the Equity Center for Career and Technical Education
The Equity Center works to increase student participation and completion in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Specific areas of focus, as they align with the New Jersey Department of Education in CTE, are the following groups:
- Race/ethnicity
- Gender
- Individuals with varying abilities
- Migrants
- Individuals with limited English proficiency
- Socioeconomically disadvantaged
- Single parents, including single pregnant women
- Displaced homemakers
- Individuals preparing for nontraditional fields[1]
In our attempt to address equity in Career and Technical Education at Ocean County College, we offer professional development opportunities for our staff and faculty members on equity and inclusion. Furthermore, we will be hosting events on campus for students and faculty members to participate in to raise awareness throughout the academic year.
